Alberto Cei is a psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in sport and performance psychology. He teaches Coaching at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Department of Motor Sciences), as well as Sport Psychology, Applied Psychology of Football, Psycho-pedagogical and Sociological Aspects of Physical Activity at San Raffaele University of Rome, and Psychology at the Italian School of Sport.
He has attended the last eight Olympic Games, providing psychological support to athletes who have won 13 Olympic medals, including seven in shooting. Throughout his career, he has worked with elite athletes, coaches, sports organizations, and companies, helping individuals and teams achieve high levels of performance.
Dr. Cei is the author of 15 books on sport psychology and performance development. His interests also include the relationship between ethics and excellence in performance, a topic explored in his book The Lords of the Pitfalls (2012).
He has worked extensively with top-level referees in Italian football (Serie A) and volleyball and is the author of The Psychology of Volleyball Referees, the first book dedicated to the psychological preparation of volleyball officials.
Alberto Cei is Editorial Manager of the International Journal of Sport Psychology, former Treasurer of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC), and a former member of the Managing Council of the International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP).
