Editorial Standards

How ALTIUS researches, writes, reviews and publishes.

ALTIUS is built on the belief that ideas about performance, leadership and society deserve the same rigour as any other serious subject. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Evidence before opinion

Claims should be supported by research, credible expertise or transparent reasoning — not asserted because they sound compelling. Where evidence is mixed or uncertain, we say so rather than smoothing it over.

Sourcing

We favour primary research, named experts and firsthand reporting over secondhand summaries. Where we rely on a study or report, we link to it so readers can check our reasoning against the original source.

Independence

Our editorial judgement is not for sale. Any sponsored or paid content is clearly labelled as such, and never presented as independent editorial coverage.

Accuracy over speed

We would rather publish a well-checked piece a day later than a rushed one on time. Editors review pieces for factual accuracy and fair representation of sources before publication.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we say so. See our Corrections page for how we handle errors, and our Fact Checking page for how we try to avoid them in the first place.
