About ALTIUS

An independent journal on Human Performance, Leadership and Society.

ALTIUS JOURNAL exists to make serious ideas accessible without making them shallow. We publish evidence-based essays, research explainers and editorial analysis on how people learn, lead, decide and adapt — and on the institutions and systems that shape those outcomes.

Our approach

We start from research and lived expertise rather than opinion for its own sake. Every piece is expected to make a clear argument, show its reasoning and be honest about uncertainty. We would rather publish less, and publish it carefully, than chase volume.

What we cover

Our coverage spans human performance and psychology, leadership and decision-making, and the wider social and political systems that shape how people live and work. Across all of it, we look for the same thing: ideas that hold up under scrutiny and are useful in practice, not just interesting in theory.

Who we are

ALTIUS is written by a small editorial team and a network of contributing writers with backgrounds spanning research, journalism and practice. You can read more about individual contributors on our Authors page.
