Giani Boldeanu is a UK-based Mental Performance Coach, Executive Coach, and Human Performance Specialist with extensive experience helping individuals perform effectively in demanding and high-pressure environments.
He began working professionally in mental performance in 2009, at a time when mental coaching was still relatively unknown as a distinct discipline in Europe. Since then, he has worked across a wide range of fields, including professional and developmental sport, business, executive leadership, education, television, media, public life, politics, and the creative industries.
His understanding of performance began long before his coaching career. From the age of 14 to 20, Giani worked as a television presenter and also gained experience in radio. Performing in front of cameras and live audiences from a young age gave him an early understanding of preparation, communication, confidence, public scrutiny, and the emotional demands of performing under pressure.
Music has also been an important part of his life since childhood. He studied, performed, and created music at a professional level from a young age, gaining first-hand experience of artistic discipline, stage performance, creativity, repetition, and public evaluation. Although music is no longer his profession, he continues to write and produce music as a personal creative pursuit.
Giani also practised football, tennis, and competitive shooting. His experience across both team and individual sports gave him a practical understanding of preparation, competition, concentration, personal responsibility, cooperation, and emotional control.
Much of his understanding of human performance was shaped during seven years of military service. He worked across different branches and operational environments, including the Navy, reconnaissance, and airborne units.
He was trained to work, live, and survive in some of the most demanding operational environments, both independently and within highly specialised teams. These experiences taught him that, under extreme pressure, technical ability alone is never enough. Sustainable performance depends on preparation, discipline, adaptability, emotional control, trust, communication, and the ability to make effective decisions when the stakes are highest.
His military experience also shaped his understanding of leadership, responsibility, teamwork, situational awareness, and human behaviour in conditions defined by uncertainty, fatigue, limited resources, discomfort, and rapidly changing demands. It became one of the foundations of his practical approach to mental performance and leadership.
Today, Giani works with athletes, coaches, executives, entrepreneurs, business leaders, organisations, public figures, media professionals, artists, and politicians. His work focuses on the human being behind the professional role, helping individuals strengthen their focus, confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, communication, leadership behaviour, and decision-making under pressure.
His work with politicians is focused exclusively on human performance. He does not provide political doctrine, ideological instruction, partisan guidance, or campaign strategy. Instead, he helps political and public figures develop the composure, communication skills, behavioural discipline, self-awareness, mental readiness, and leadership effectiveness required to operate under intense public scrutiny.
His methodology brings together evidence-informed principles from performance psychology, behavioural science, mental performance coaching, executive coaching, leadership, communication, and decision-making under pressure. These principles are reinforced by direct experience across military, sporting, artistic, media, business, and public-performance environments.
Rather than relying on motivation alone, Giani helps clients build practical behaviours and systems that support consistent and sustainable performance. His approach recognises that people must often perform without ideal conditions, complete certainty, or unlimited time, and that effective preparation must therefore extend beyond knowledge and technical ability.
His professional development includes education through organisations such as FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, the International Tennis Federation, and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.
Throughout his career, Giani has worked and collaborated with leading specialists from a wide range of disciplines, including sport and performance psychology, coaching, leadership, athlete development, physical preparation, education, business, communication, and human behaviour. These collaborations have exposed him to different professional perspectives and contributed to the development of his multidisciplinary approach to human performance.
Among these professional relationships is his long-standing collaboration with Professor Alberto Cei, one of Europe’s respected authorities in sport and performance psychology. This relationship, together with his work alongside specialists from different fields, has played an important role in the continued development of his thinking, methodology, and professional practice.
Beyond coaching, Giani writes about human performance across all walks of life, including sport, leadership, business, politics, media, creativity, behavioural change, and the psychology of pressure. His aim is to connect scientific research with practical experience and make complex ideas accessible and relevant to people operating in real-world environments.
His philosophy is simple: the environment may change, but the fundamental challenges of human performance often remain the same. Whether someone is competing in sport, leading an organisation, appearing in front of a camera, creating music, operating in a demanding military environment, or speaking under public scrutiny, sustainable performance is built through preparation, disciplined behaviour, emotional control, self-awareness, and the ability to make effective decisions when it matters most.
