- Author: Giani Boldeanu

Those years became the foundation of his understanding of performance under pressure. He was trained to operate in conditions defined by uncertainty, fatigue, discomfort, limited resources, rapidly changing demands and the need for absolute clarity of responsibility. The experience taught him that technical ability alone is rarely enough when the stakes are high. Sustainable performance depends on preparation, discipline, adaptability, emotional control, trust, communication, situational awareness and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.

His military experience also shaped his approach to leadership. In high-pressure environments, leadership is not primarily about status, visibility or rhetoric. It is about responsibility, judgement, consistency, communication, trust and the ability to remain effective when conditions become difficult. These principles continue to influence his work with leaders, public figures and professionals operating under scrutiny.

Giani began working professionally in mental performance in 2009, at a time when mental coaching was still relatively unfamiliar as a distinct discipline in much of Europe. Since then, he has worked across sport, executive leadership, business, education, media, public life, politics and other environments where performance depends on behaviour, judgement and communication.

His understanding of public performance began even earlier. Between the ages of 14 and 20, he worked in television and radio, gaining first-hand experience of live communication, preparation, confidence, public scrutiny and the emotional demands of performing in front of an audience.

Music was another important part of his early development. He studied, performed and created music from a young age, developing an understanding of discipline, creativity, repetition, stage performance and public evaluation.

His background also includes football, tennis and competitive shooting. These experiences added another layer to his understanding of concentration, responsibility, competition, cooperation and emotional control across both individual and team environments.

Today, Giani works with executives, business leaders, politicians, public figures, athletes, coaches, media professionals, artists and other individuals operating in demanding and highly visible environments. His work focuses on the human being behind the professional role, helping clients strengthen focus, confidence, emotional regulation, communication, leadership behaviour, mental readiness and decision making under pressure.

In politics and public life, his work centres on **political performance rather than ideology or partisan strategy**. He focuses on areas such as composure, communication, behavioural discipline, self-awareness, leadership effectiveness, public scrutiny and decision making under pressure.

His methodology combines evidence-informed principles from performance psychology, behavioural science, mental performance coaching, executive coaching, leadership, communication and decision making. These principles are reinforced by direct experience across military, sporting, artistic, media, business and public-performance environments.

Rather than relying on motivation alone, Giani works with clients to build practical behaviours, routines and systems that support consistent performance. His approach recognises that people often have to operate without perfect conditions, complete certainty or unlimited time. Effective preparation must therefore extend beyond knowledge and technical competence.

His professional development includes education through organisations such as **FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, the International Tennis Federation and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council**.

Throughout his career, he has worked and collaborated with specialists across sport and performance psychology, coaching, leadership, education, communication, business and human behaviour. Among these relationships is his long-standing collaboration with **Professor Alberto Cei**, whose work in sport and performance psychology has contributed to the continuing development of Giani’s professional thinking and methodology.

Giani is the author of ***Before You Seek Power*** and ***Vrei să fii politician?***, books focused on political preparation, leadership, public life and the demands placed on people who seek or exercise influence.

Beyond coaching and consulting, he writes about **political performance, leadership, decision making, human performance, communication, behaviour and pressure**, connecting research with practical experience across real-world high-pressure environments.

His central philosophy comes directly from experience: **the environment may change, but the demands of performance often do not**. Whether someone is operating in a military environment, leading an organisation, speaking under public scrutiny, making consequential decisions or competing at a high level, sustainable performance is built through preparation, disciplined behaviour, adaptability, emotional control, self-awareness and effective decision making when it matters most.
